NEET UG Tie-Breaker Rules: How is the Topper Decided?
When students take the NEET exam, sometimes they get the same score.
To decide who gets the top rank, the NTA uses special rules.
First, they look at Biology scores; the student with more marks wins.
If those scores are tied, they check Chemistry, then Physics.
If all scores are the same, they see who made fewer mistakes or got more answers correct.
This ensures a fair way to decide the ranks.
NTA uses tie-breaker rules to determine the All India Rank (AIR) when candidates score the same in NEET UG.
The rules are outlined annually by NTA.
Tie-breakers include higher marks in Biology, then Chemistry, then Physics.
If marks in all subjects are equal, fewer wrong answers and more correct answers are considered.
In 2024, 17 candidates initially scored the same, but the ranking was later revised after adjustments.
