DIPAM's 2025 Strategy Boosts CPSE Dividends and Disinvestment
In 2025, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) helped the government earn more money from companies it owns, called CPSEs.
They did this by getting higher dividends, which are like shares of the company's profits.
They also sold a small part of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) to the public, making a lot of money.
Additionally, DIPAM organized training sessions to help CPSE leaders communicate better and understand financial markets.
All these efforts helped the government manage its money better and made investors happier.
Dividend receipts from CPSEs increased from Rs 39,750 crore in 2020-21 to Rs 74,017 crore in 2024-25, surpassing revised estimates.
DIPAM successfully divested a 3.61% stake in Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) through an Offer for Sale (OFS), raising Rs 3,673.42 crore.
Post-OFS, MDL's stock price showed an upward trend, benefiting investors with capital gains.
DIPAM organized workshops to enhance leadership communication skills and financial market understanding among CPSE executives.
The initiatives contributed to fiscal consolidation, strengthened investor confidence, and advanced long-term value creation in CPSEs.
