Mumbai FDA Suspends Two Food Licences, Flags Two More

Mumbai’s food-safety officials inspected four food businesses.

They found problems that could make food unsafe for customers.

Two businesses had their licences suspended immediately.

Two bakeries may also have their licences suspended.

Inspectors found issues such as pests, dirty conditions and poor food storage.

Some businesses also had problems with cooking temperatures and employee hygiene.

Officials reported that one kitchen stored raw meat in the open and used deteriorated oil.

The action was taken under India’s food-safety law.

The FDA said the seriousness of the problems led to these measures.
