Palestinian Films Await Censor Nod at Bengaluru Festival
The Bengaluru International Film Festival is starting soon, but some films are waiting for permission to be shown.
These films are about Palestine and include stories about a child's death, the Gaza war, and a historical revolt.
Recently, a similar festival in Kerala had trouble because some films, including ones about Palestine, were not allowed to be shown.
The leader of Kerala criticized this decision.
Now, people are waiting to see if these films in Bengaluru will get the okay to be shown.
The 17th edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) begins Thursday.
Several Palestinian films, including 'The Voice of Hind Rajab' and 'Palestine 36', await approval from the CBFC.
The films document various aspects of Palestinian life and history, including the Gaza war and a historical revolt.
This follows a recent controversy at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), where 19 films were denied clearance.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticized the denial of clearance for the films at IFFK.
