High Uncollectable Enumeration Forms Reported in Electoral Roll Revision

High Uncollectable Enumeration Forms Reported in Electoral Roll Revision

The government keeps a big list of everyone who is allowed to vote in elections.

This list is called the electoral roll.

Recently, officials tried to update the list during a special drive called the Special Intensive Revision.

The drive ended on Monday, which was the last day for people to ask to be added to the list.

However, many of the forms used for this drive could not be collected or completed.

Officials call these Uncollectable Enumeration Forms.

This can happen when a voter has died, moved away, cannot be found, or is already on the list.

In Mancherial Assembly constituency, nearly 23 out of every 100 forms were uncollectable.

Some tribal families called Kolam Adivasis had trouble finding their old voting details from 2002.

Officials are now tracking these problems to make the voter list more accurate.
