MSRDC Seeks Farmers’ Trust To Advance Shaktipeeth Expressway Land Acquisition

Maharashtra plans to build a very long road called the Shaktipeeth Expressway.

To build it, the government needs to acquire land from farmers.

Some farmers are resisting the measurement of their land because they may not understand the project or the acquisition process.

Officials have been told to speak with farmers regularly and explain the rules.

A workshop was held in Pune to help government departments work together.

Much of the required land is in Sangli, Satara, Solapur and Kolhapur.

The planned expressway will be 856.57 kilometres long and connect 13 districts.

Officials hope better communication will make the land-acquisition process smoother.
