Dankuni’s 109-Year-Old Station Gets Rs 18.66 Crore Upgrade

Dankuni railway station in West Bengal is more than 100 years old.

It is being improved so passengers can have better facilities.

The project is expected to cost Rs 18.66 crore.

Parts of the main building, entrance area, parking area and station grounds are already finished.

The platforms, roofs and lights have also been improved.

New train information screens and GPS clocks have been added.

More than 30,000 people use the station on an average day.

A proposed freight railway line to Surat could make Dankuni even more important for moving goods.
