NAAC Introduces New Accreditation System
The NAAC has announced a new way to check and grade universities.
This new system has two parts: first, a basic check, and then a more detailed grading based on how well the university is doing.
Universities that are already accredited and whose accreditation is about to expire will get a few extra months of validity until the new system starts.
MDU, a university in Rohtak, says they are ready to apply for this new accreditation once the process starts.
They also said that all their distance and online courses are approved by the UGC and are valid until 2025-26.
Students enrolled in these courses will get their degrees as usual.
MDU is also planning to start new courses in the future.
NAAC announces a new accreditation system based on the Dr Radhakrishnan Committee recommendations.
The new system consists of Basic (Binary) Accreditation followed by Maturity-Based Graded Levels (MBGL) Accreditation.
HEIs with expiring accreditation will receive a maximum of three months' extension after the MBGL launch.
MDU is prepared to apply for the new accreditation once the portal opens and assures compliance with UGC regulations.
All MDU distance and online programmes are UGC-approved and valid until the academic session 2025-26.
