8th Pay Commission Report Expected by May–June 2027

8th Pay Commission Report Expected by May–June 2027

The government has created a group called the 8th Pay Commission to recommend changes to government workers’ pay and benefits.

The group began its work in November 2025 and has 18 months to prepare a report.

That means its report is expected around May or June 2027, though it could come earlier.

The report will not make salaries go up right away.

The government must study the recommendations and decide whether and when to approve them.

That process could take about a year or longer.

Some employee groups want a larger pay multiplier than the ones used in earlier commissions.

The date when any new pay would begin has not been finally decided.
