ECI Issues Notice to Tripura's INPT Over Potential Delisting
The Election Commission is considering removing the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT) from the list of recognized political parties.
This is because the party hasn't been active, not putting up candidates in recent elections.
The INPT was formed in 2002 but merged with another party in 2021.
The ECI sent a notice asking INPT why it shouldn't be removed.
The party has to respond by August 21st, or the ECI will proceed without their input.
A hearing is set for August 28th to discuss the matter.
