Mumbai Metro 9 Partial Opening on Republic Day
The Mumbai Metro officials had promised that two new lines, Metro 2B and Metro 9, would be ready before the civic elections.
They were supposed to be inaugurated on 25 December, but that didn't happen.
Now, only a part of Metro 9 will open on Republic Day, which is 26 January.
Metro 2B might take at least another month to be ready.
The reasons for the delay aren't clear, but commuters will have to wait a bit longer for full relief.
