Allahabad HC Stays Arrest in Yadav Photo Case
A man named Arun Kumar shared a photoshopped picture of a politician, Akhilesh Yadav, with a person accused of espionage.
Someone filed a complaint, and police wanted to arrest Kumar, but he went to court.
The Allahabad High Court told the police they can't arrest him yet.
The court is still looking at the case to decide if what Kumar did was illegal, but wants the police to collect more evidence.
Kumar says it's a political issue and the charges are too serious for simply sharing a picture.
He has to cooperate with the police investigation.
The Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest of Arun Kumar.
Kumar shared a manipulated photo of Akhilesh Yadav on social media.
An FIR was filed against Kumar in August 2025.
The court cited Sections 147, 196, 197, and 353 BNSS, Section 67 IT Act, and Section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act.
The court stated Kumar cannot be arrested until the next hearing unless new evidence emerges.
