Delhi PG Collapse Exposes Safety Clause as Seven Die

A five-storey paying guest building in Delhi collapsed on Sunday afternoon.

Seven people died after becoming trapped under the debris.

The building housed students and workers.

Reports said 11 students were rescued, while a local MLA said 12 people were rescued.

A rental contract reportedly said the PG managers were not responsible for injuries or deaths.

Police have opened a case and are searching for the building’s owner.

Officials are investigating repair work that was happening before the collapse.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said basement water and repair work may have helped cause the collapse.

The exact cause and responsibility have not yet been finally established.
