China: Lipulekh Dispute Is Between India and Nepal
Imagine three friends: India, Nepal, and China.
India and China decided to reopen a trade route through a place called Lipulekh.
Nepal said, 'Hey, Lipulekh is actually part of my land!'
Nepal's leader talked to China's leader about it.
China said, 'That's a problem between you two, India and Nepal.'
China suggested that Nepal should sort it out with India directly.
The problem started because of different ideas about where a river begins, which helps define the border.
India says the trade route has been used for a long time.
So, China wants India and Nepal to talk it over and solve the issue together.
China stated the Lipulekh issue is a bilateral matter between India and Nepal.
Nepal asserts Lipulekh falls within its territory and opposed the India-China agreement.
China's President Xi Jinping rejected Nepal's concerns and deferred the issue.
India dismissed Nepal's claims as lacking support from historical facts.
The disagreement stems from differing interpretations of the Mahakali River's origin.
