Indian exporters may receive $7B US tariff refunds
Indian exporters who faced high tariffs on their goods in the US might get back $7-8 billion.
The US Supreme Court said these tariffs were illegal, so the US Customs and Border Protection is giving money back to importers.
Indian exporters can get some of this money back, especially if they have companies in the US.
The tariffs were very high, starting at 10% in April 2025 and going up to 50% by August 2025.
The biggest refunds will be for textiles, engineering goods, and chemicals.
Some companies have already gotten money back, like Elgi Equipments and ADF Foods.
The US and India also agreed to lower tariffs, but the Supreme Court ruling made all the old tariffs void.
Indian exporters may recoup $7-8 billion from US tariff refunds.
The US Supreme Court invalidated the tariffs, leading to refunds.
Tariffs on Indian goods ranged from 10% to 50% between April 2025 and February 2026.
Textiles, engineering goods, and chemicals are the major sectors affected.
Refunds will be issued to importers on record and authorized customs brokers with a US bank account.
