Maharashtra releases first loan waiver list

The Maharashtra government has released the first list of farmers who will benefit from their farm loan waiver scheme.

Only 533 farmers were included in this initial list.

The government is being careful and checking tax records to make sure only eligible farmers get the waiver.

They had to do this because some people who paid taxes got benefits in another scheme, which cost the government a lot of money.

The rest of the farmers will be announced later once the tax data is received.
