Supreme Court Reinstates Driver, Citing Employee Dignity

Supreme Court Reinstates Driver, Citing Employee Dignity

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of a bus driver who was fired because he was colorblind.

The court said the company (TSRTC) should have tried to find him a different job instead of firing him.

They said employers must help employees with disabilities.

The court stated that the employer must respect the employee's dignity and find a solution before terminating their job.

The driver will get some of his pay back and his service record will be updated.

The court also noted that companies should not ignore finding alternate jobs for employees.

The court reminded employers they must consider different options for employees with disabilities, and that is a right.
