Kejriwal Family Gets Delhi SIR Notices as EC Responds
Delhi is checking its voter list in a process called the Special Intensive Revision.
Arvind Kejriwal and four members of his family received notices asking them to provide information.
The Aam Aadmi Party said this meant their names had disappeared from the voter list.
Election officials said the names were still recorded and that a notice was only part of the checking process.
Some voters could not be matched with the older voter list.
Others had small differences in names, birth dates or other details.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also received a notice, but officials said her information was checked and accepted.
People can submit documents before officials decide which names belong on the final list.
Arvind Kejriwal, his wife, son and parents received notices during Delhi’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
The AAP said their names were missing from the voter list, while election officials said the names remain recorded and notices do not establish ineligibility.
Officials said notices were issued to voters who could not be mapped to the previous revision or whose records contained discrepancies.
