Woman Alleges Gold Chain Theft at Bageshwar Baba Event
A woman from Howrah says her gold chain disappeared at a religious event.
The event was led by Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Baba.
It took place at the Liluah workshop ground on September 4.
The woman is Anita Devi Shaw.
She said the chain weighed about 12 to 14 grams.
She reported the theft to Belur police station.

Shaw filed a complaint at Belur police station after the event at Liluah workshop ground on September 4.
She said the necklace weighed approximately 12 to 14 grams.
According to her complaint, the theft occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. during the Shri Hanuman Katha and Divya Darbar.
The event also faced political and cultural backlash after Shastri appealed to people not to cook or eat fish or meat during Durga Puja.
