Assam CM: Muslim Population Could Match Hindus by 2041
Imagine Assam has lots of people, and the government is watching how the groups are growing.
The Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, looked at the numbers and thinks that if things keep going the way they are, the Muslim population might be about the same size as the Hindu population in about 20 years.
He said this is because of how many people are being born and moving into Assam.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that a large part of the Muslim population had moved to Assam earlier.
