Nashik Issues Heavy Rain Alert, Prepares for Floods
The Indian government warned that it might rain very hard in parts of Nashik district on Friday.
The district collector, Ayush Prasad, told everyone to be ready for floods.
He asked the police, water teams, and local workers to keep dams full, watch water levels, and clean drains.
He also said people should not panic and should listen to official advice.
The goal is to keep everyone safe if the rain causes flooding.
IMD issued a heavy rainfall warning for Sinnar and Igatpuri talukas on July 31.
Collector Ayush Prasad ordered full preparedness across all departments to prevent flooding.
Measures include keeping buffer storage in dams, monitoring reservoir levels, and regulating water releases.
Authorities must stay on 24‑hour alert at low‑lying bridges, clear storm drains, and keep pumps and rescue teams ready.
Collector urged citizens not to panic, stay vigilant after recent earthquake tremors, and follow official advisories.
