Ahmedabad Cyber Police Bust Online Stalkers Targeting Women; 8 Arrested
Police in Ahmedabad caught eight people who were being unkind to women on the internet.
These people made fake accounts and sent scary pictures and messages.
The police team doing this work is called Mission Cyber Rakshika.
It is part of a plan to make online places safer for women.
Women who were bothered told the police, and women officers helped them.
Eleven official complaints were made.
One suspect made ten fake accounts and bothered almost 300 women.
Another suspect made eight fake accounts pretending to be women.
The police removed bad posts and promised to keep the women's names private.
The Ahmedabad City Cyber Crime Branch arrested eight individuals, including one woman, for online harassment, cyberstalking, and identity theft under the newly launched Mission Cyber Rakshika initiative.
Eleven separate FIRs were registered after multiple female victims reported fake social media profiles, objectionable media messages, identity theft, and cyberbullying.
Suspect Suresh Puri reportedly created 10 fake IDs over six months to target nearly 300 women with nude photographs, objectionable audio files, and explicit messages.
Suspect Keyur Lakkar allegedly created eight fake profiles impersonating women to contact female friends of public profile holders.
Earlier operations under the mission led to arrests in Rajasthan and Delhi involving individuals impersonating online gurus and using AI-generated deepfake nude photos for extortion.
