Harsh Singh Wins India’s First Commonwealth Judo Gold

Harsh Singh is a 23‑year‑old judo athlete from India.

He competed in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and won the gold medal in the men’s 60‑kilogram weight class.

In the final, he beat an Australian judoka named Joshua Katz by scoring a special move called a waza‑ari.

This win was very special because it was the first time an Indian judoka had ever won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

Harsh’s victory also helped India earn more medals overall at the Games.

He had already won earlier matches easily, showing he was very strong and calm.

The whole event was celebrated by many people in India, and it showed that Indian judo is getting better.
