Purulia Bars Ayodhya Hills Waterfalls Entry Amid Monsoon Safety Fears

Officials in Purulia have temporarily stopped people from visiting several waterfalls in Ayodhya Hills.

They are worried that heavy monsoon rain could make the water channels dangerous.

The restricted places include Dauri Canal, Bamni, Turga and Mashkenda waterfalls.

Police and forest workers are guarding the entrances.

They are also using loudspeakers to tell tourists to stay away.

The area is normally a popular place for visitors during the monsoon and winter.

Officials want people to avoid trekking near fast-moving water.

The decision came after deadly flash floods in Nepal and concerns about safety during heavy rain.
