Black Sea Tensions Send Wheat to Limit-Up, Corn Higher

Wheat prices jumped sharply because fighting around the Black Sea could interrupt grain shipments.

A report said Russia may consider more missile strikes on Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine.

Recent attacks have already slowed grain loading at Russian and Ukrainian ports.

This made traders worry that less wheat and corn might reach world markets.

Corn prices also rose because a field tour predicted a smaller U.S. harvest than the government expects.

Every corn contract reached its highest level for the contract.

Soybean prices increased too, partly because China kept buying soybeans from the United States.

These concerns pushed several important crop markets higher.
