Aradhana Misra Says 2027 Winnability Is Critical for Congress, SP
Aradhana Misra has been chosen to lead the Congress party in Uttar Pradesh.
She says the job is challenging because the next state election is approaching.
Her first task is to make the party stronger in local areas and at polling booths.
She says Congress wants to win the 2027 election and replace the BJP government.
Congress may work with the Samajwadi Party, or SP.
Misra says party leaders at the national level will decide how many seats each party contests and when an alliance is announced.
She believes the results of the 2024 national election helped workers from both parties see the value of working together.
She also says many party workers and leaders will need to work as a team.
Congress appointed three-term Rampur Khas MLA Aradhana Misra as chief of its Uttar Pradesh unit.
Misra said her immediate priority is strengthening the party organisation down to the booth level.
She described winning the 2027 Assembly election and ousting the BJP government as the party’s mission.
Misra said the Congress-SP alliance’s seat-sharing and announcement would be decided by central leadership.
She said the 2024 Lok Sabha results gave Congress and SP workers greater clarity about the alliance’s value.
