Defective Radiant Warmers Raise Safety Concerns in MP
The Madhya Pradesh Health Corporation bought 900 radiant warmers for hospitals to keep newborn babies warm.
But some of these warmers had broken plates, which is dangerous for the babies.
The hospital told the health department about this problem.
The health department is now checking to see if more warmers are broken.
They want to make sure all the warmers are safe for the babies.
MPHCL purchased 900 radiant warmers for Rs 6.5 crore to regulate newborn babies' temperature.
Two defective warmers were found at Hamidia Hospital with cracked acrylic plates.
The pediatric department raised safety concerns and informed the Health Corporation.
An inspection team was sent to Hamidia Hospital on December 18 to check the equipment.
