PMLA Court Allows ED to Auction Nirav Modi's Cars
A special court has allowed the Enforcement Directorate to sell two luxury cars that belonged to Nirav Modi, a businessman who is wanted in India.
These cars have been sitting unused for a long time and are losing value.
The court said it's better to sell them now than to keep them and spend more money on maintenance.
Nirav Modi is currently in jail in the UK and is fighting against being sent back to India.
The money from selling the cars will be kept in a special bank account.
PMLA court allows ED to auction two of Nirav Modi's seized cars: Mercedes-Benz GLE 250 and Skoda Superb.
Court denies ED's request to auction the third car, Mercedes-Benz 4Matic FL 350 CDI.
Cars have been unused for several years and are rapidly depreciating in value.
Nirav Modi is currently imprisoned in the UK and fighting extradition to India.
Proceeds from the auction will be deposited in a fixed deposit with a nationalised bank.
