SJVN Power PSU Stock: 50% Upside Despite Q1 Miss
SJVN Power PSU is a company that makes electricity from water and fire.
In the first part of the year, it made less money than people expected because the water plants worked less.
But the fire plant worked better, which helped a bit.
Some experts think the company’s stock could go up a lot, maybe 50% more, even though it didn’t do as well this year.
They also say the company is building more power plants, but it might take longer to finish them.
So, even though the company had a rough start, some people still think its shares could become more valuable.
Brokerage Elara projects over 50% upside on SJVN shares, target price Rs 106 from current Rs 69.68.
Q1 earnings missed expectations mainly due to 41% drop in hydro generation at Nathpa Jhakri and Rampur.
Thermal output from Buxar plant rose 15% QoQ, helping reduce overall losses.
Installed capacity 4.2 GW, 3.9 GW under construction; 25 GW FY30 target under review.
JM Financial estimates FY revenue ~Rs 1,400 crore, PAT ~Rs 260 crore, but keeps 'Reduce' rating at Rs 67.
