Telangana CM seeks Centre's help to resolve Tummidihetti barrage row

Two big states in India, Telangana and Maharashtra, are arguing over a wall being built in a river called the Pranahita.

The wall is called the Tummidihetti barrage, and it is part of a big project to bring water to farms.

The leader of Telangana, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, travelled to New Delhi, the capital of India, to ask the national government for help.

He met a minister named C R Patil, who takes care of water for the whole country.

Telangana wants the wall to be 150 metres tall, but the two states had agreed earlier that it would be 148 metres.

A taller wall would let water flow to the farms by itself, using gravity, so the state would not need to spend a lot of money on pumps and electricity.

Scientists at a research station in Pune studied the plan and said a taller wall would not flood much extra land.

The minister promised to arrange meetings so the two states can talk and solve the problem.

The Chief Minister also asked another minister for permission to continue four other water projects that have been stopped for a long time.
