Tagore’s Quote Urges Education Beyond One Generation’s Limits

Tagore’s Quote Urges Education Beyond One Generation’s Limits

Rabindranath Tagore said adults should not limit children to what adults already know.

Children will grow up in a different world with different problems and tools.

This does not mean adults have nothing useful to teach.

It means adults should share knowledge without forcing children to learn in exactly the same way.

Tagore believed children learn well through curiosity, observation, and direct experience.

At Shantiniketan, students learned through nature, cooperation, and independent thinking.

Adults can guide children while also listening to their interests.

Saying “I don’t know, but let’s find out” can be a good way to learn together.

The main message is to help children develop the confidence to discover answers for their own future.
