Delhi Airport Runway Closure to Impact Flights for Three Months
Delhi's main airport is closing a runway from June 15 to September 15, 2025, for upgrades.
This will affect about 200 flights daily.
The upgrade will improve the runway's ability to handle more flights during foggy weather.
Airport authorities state they are working to minimize the impact and that airlines and the airport are cooperating to reschedule flights and keep passengers informed.
The runway was closed due to easterly winds and congestion, prompting the Ministry of Civil Aviation to order the resumption of runway operations.
Runway 10/28 at Delhi Airport will be closed from June 15 to September 15 for upgrades.
Approximately 114 daily flights will be canceled due to the closure.
Another 86 flights will be rescheduled to non-peak hours.
The upgrade aims to make the runway CAT III compliant.
DIAL is coordinating with airlines to minimize disruptions.
