Celestial Events: Northern Lights, Fomalhaut and Harvest Moon
Get ready for some amazing sights in the night sky!
You can see the bright Harvest Moon and the Autumn Star, which is a really bright star called Fomalhaut.
It will appear low in the southern sky near Saturn.
You might also see the Northern Lights, also known as aurora borealis, in places like Canada or Alaska.
To enjoy the view, look south to spot the star and north to hopefully see the Northern Lights.
To get the best view, find a dark area away from city lights, and be patient while your eyes adjust.
The Autumn Star (Fomalhaut) makes its seasonal appearance on October 3.
Fomalhaut will be visible low in the southern sky.
The Harvest Moon will peak on October 6.
The Northern Lights may be visible in high-latitude areas.
Clear skies and low light pollution are key for viewing.
