After Gen Z, Gen Alpha's turn to seek accountability: Kejriwal
On Independence Day, a famous Indian leader named Arvind Kejriwal shared a message on the social media site X. Mr. Kejriwal used to be the chief minister of Delhi, a big city in India.
He said that children, whom people call Gen Alpha, are now speaking up about their schools.
Kids in places called Hamirpur, Dehradun and Barmer are asking for better roads and more teachers.
Many government-run schools in India have old, damaged buildings.
Some have leaking roofs, no toilets, and no clean drinking water.
Some schools do not have enough teachers to teach all the students.
Mr. Kejriwal said it is sad that these problems still exist after India has been independent for about 75-80 years.
He said adults had started thinking of these problems as normal.
Now the children are asking questions, and they want change.
Former Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal said Gen Alpha has started raising its voice for better facilities in government schools after Gen Z.
In an Independence Day post on X, he said children across the country were protesting for basic facilities.
He cited examples from Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur, Dehradun and Barmer, where students were demanding better roads and adequate teachers.
Kejriwal said it was unfortunate that even after 75-80 years of Independence, government schools continue to have damaged buildings, leaking roofs, and a lack of toilets, drinking water and teachers.
He said people had accepted poor conditions in government schools as normal, but children are now questioning the system.
