Bihar to Conduct Drive for Ayushman Health Cards
The Bihar health department is organizing a special drive to make Ayushman health cards for people, aiming to provide free treatment at hospitals.
They are working to reach every village to help people get their cards made.
The government has already made millions of these cards and spent billions on treatment.
The goal is to make sure that the poor and deprived people get access to high-quality healthcare, following a program started in 2018.
Over a thousand hospitals are participating in this program, and the minister wants newly joined hospitals to understand the scheme and provide orientation sessions.
Bihar health department will run a special campaign for Ayushman cards from May 26 to 28.
The state government spent Rs 1,000 crore in FY2024-25 on treatment for the poor.
3.75 crore Ayushman cards have been made in Bihar.
2.8 crore Ayushman cards were made in the last 14 months.
20.5 lakh people have benefited from the scheme over the last six years.
