Taloja Industries Accuse Panvel of Poor Waste Management
The Taloja Industries Association (TIA) has accused the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) of not collecting garbage properly in their industrial area.
They say that even though they pay high taxes, the garbage collection is not regular and they have to ask many times for it to be done.
The PMC says they are doing a good job and spending more money on waste collection than they get from the industries.
Both sides are going to meet to talk about the problem.
The TIA is thinking about asking the state government to take over because they are not happy with the current services.
Taloja Industries Association (TIA) accuses Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) of irregular waste collection in Taloja MIDC Industrial Area.
TIA claims despite high property taxes, essential civic services remain unreliable and complaints have not led to improvements.
PMC denies allegations, stating they spend Rs 2.68 crore annually on waste collection, which is more than the Rs 29.75 lakh collected in user charges.
PMC asserts that three dedicated vehicles and twelve sanitation workers collect 20 to 25 tonnes of waste daily, accounting for 5% of the city's total waste.
A meeting has been scheduled to address the concerns raised by the industries.
