Delhi LG Orders War-Footing Response to Waterlogging

Heavy rain caused waterlogging in several parts of Delhi.

Delhi LG Sardar TS Sandhu held a meeting with officials responsible for roads, drainage, traffic, and civic services.

He said the situation was not fully satisfactory, but was better than during the previous three monsoons.

The LG said older problems with drainage infrastructure were making the response harder.

He told senior officials to work from the streets instead of only watching from their offices.

He also said all departments must cooperate closely.

Pumps should be installed quickly at places that often flood.

Officials were asked to respond quickly to complaints from residents and show actual improvements on the ground.
