Neemuch Residents Protest School on Playground
In Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, people who play sports, walk in the morning, and other residents are upset because the government wants to build a new school on their favorite playground.
They say the playground is important for sports like cricket and yoga, and for people preparing for jobs in the Army, CRPF, and police.
They want the school to be built somewhere else.
The local government says they will not reduce the playground space and will build a new playground nearby.
The residents plan to protest on July 26 if the government does not change its mind.
Residents and sportspersons in Neemuch launched a 'Save the Playground' campaign against the proposed CM Rise School on the Government Higher Secondary School playground.
Protesters support the school project but oppose its location on the playground, which is a major public sports facility.
They demanded that officials preserve the playground and identify an alternative location for the school.
Neemuch Collector Himanshu Chandra assured that the project will not reduce playground space and a new playground will be developed at Government Higher Secondary School No 2.
Residents announced a protest at Four Zero Square on July 26 if the administration does not reconsider the site.
