Monsoon Rains Improve Air Quality in Tricity Region
Imagine the air is like a soup, and sometimes it has too many yucky bits in it.
In the cities of Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali, the air used to be a bit dirty in May and June because it was dry and dusty.
The 'soup' had lots of tiny bad things in it!
But then the monsoon rains came, like a big washing machine for the air.
Now, the air is much cleaner!
The 'soup' is much better, with fewer yucky bits, so it's healthier for everyone to breathe.
Air quality in Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali improved in July.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) has fallen to 'good' and 'satisfactory' levels.
Chandigarh's AQI was at 54, Mohali at 48, and Panchkula at 62 on Friday.
Earlier in July, AQI levels were higher before monsoon rains.
May and June saw 'moderate' to 'poor' air quality due to dry conditions.
