Delhi SIR Deletes 728 Voters After Bela Estate Demolitions
Delhi officials found that 728 voters from a Bela Estate settlement were missing from a new draft voter list.
The settlement was near the Yamuna.
Officials said farming there stopped in 2021.
They also said the homes were demolished in 2022 and 2023.
Because the homes no longer existed, the voters were not found at their recorded addresses.
Officials therefore marked them as absent, shifted, dead, or duplicate.
People who are still eligible can apply to be added again.
They can submit Form 6 before the claims period ends on September 30.
Delhi poll officials said 728 of 729 voters at Bela Estate were excluded from the draft electoral roll.
The voters were registered at Part No. 38 in the Chandni Chowk Assembly constituency.
Officials said agricultural activity ended in 2021 and dwelling units were demolished in 2022-23.
Because residents no longer lived at their recorded addresses, booth officials placed them on the ASDD list.
Eligible people can reapply using Form 6; claims close September 30 and the final roll is due November 4.
