UP Opposition Raises BLO Death Concerns
In the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, the Opposition wanted to talk about the deaths of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
They said at least 10 BLOs died because of too much pressure and lack of training.
The government said no because the SIR is handled by the Election Commission of India (ECI), and the government can't control it.
The Opposition wanted money and jobs for the families of the deceased BLOs, but the government said it can only provide benefits as per its rules.
The government will look into the deaths but said it's not responsible for election matters.
Opposition in UP Assembly demanded discussion on BLO deaths and SIR process.
Government rejected the demand, citing ECI's control over SIR.
Opposition claimed at least 10 BLOs died due to administrative negligence and pressure.
Opposition proposed Rs 50 lakh compensation and government job for BLO families.
Government to conduct inquiry into BLO deaths but claims limited role in election matters.
