Hyderabad Skincare Firm Hit by Rs 12.7 Crore Google Ad Fraud
A company called OSR, which makes skincare products, had a big problem.
Someone got into their online advertising account and spent a lot of money – about 12.7 crore rupees – on ads without permission.
This person ran ads for other companies, mostly in the US, over a couple of days.
OSR's marketing team noticed something was wrong because the ads didn't bring in any new customers, even though lots of people clicked on them.
The company told Google and the police.
Now, the police are investigating to find out who did it and get the money back.
The case involves computer hacking and stealing money from the company's advertising account.
Hyderabad skincare firm OSR suffered a Rs 12.7 crore cyber fraud via Google Ads.
An unauthorized individual placed thousands of ads for US-based companies.
The fraud was detected by ENSO Business Consulting, OSR's digital marketing agency.
