West Bengal Police Seize ₹28.5 Crore Cash, Gold
The West Bengal police raided a house in Birbhum district and found a huge amount of money and gold.
They counted the cash for many hours and used special machines.
The owner, Minar Mondal, used to drive a bus and later worked for a stone trader.
Police think the money was part of a crime ring that sells sand and stone.
The chief minister said the state will not tolerate corruption.
Police seized more than ₹28.5 crore in cash and 15 kg of gold from Minar Mondal’s house.
The raid lasted 19–48 hours and used counting machines, trunks and hidden cupboards.
Minar Mondal, a relative of stone trader Tulu Mondal, was arrested; his son says the wealth belonged to Tulu Mondal.
Investigators link the assets to an illegal organized syndicate involved in the sand‑quarrying mafia.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced a zero‑tolerance stance on corruption and praised the crackdown.
