DMRC Achieves Feat: Installs Steel Span Over Expressway
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) did something amazing.
They put a very big steel piece, 58 meters long, over a busy road and expressway without stopping the traffic.
This is the first time something like this has been done.
They used special machines and worked day and night for two days to make sure everything went smoothly.
They are also building a place where Metro trains can turn around after their trips.
This is a big deal because it shows how smart engineers can build big things without causing problems for people on the road.
DMRC successfully installed a 58-meter steel span over NH-9 and Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
The installation was done without disrupting traffic on the busy highway and expressway.
This is the first time a Metro viaduct has crossed over an operational expressway.
The span was installed between Piers 384 and 385 using special machinery called the 'Winch'.
The civil work for the reversal facility is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
