Mahendra Dev Named EAC-PM Chair, Soumya Kanti Ghosh Joins
The Prime Minister has a group of economic advisors called the EAC-PM, and it has a new leader.
S. Mahendra Dev is now the chairperson, replacing Suman Bery.
Some previous members have been kept.
Many new part-time members have also been added to the council.
This council provides economic advice to the Prime Minister to help with economic matters.
The reconstitution of the council was approved for two years or until further notice.
S. Mahendra Dev is appointed as the new chairperson of the EAC-PM.
He replaces Suman Bery in the role.
Full-time members Sanjeev Sanyal, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, and Shamika Ravi have been retained.
Soumya Kanti Ghosh, group chief economic advisor at State Bank of India, is a part-time member.
The EAC-PM was reconstituted for a period of two years or until further orders.
