Hyderabad Water Board Orders Advance Plan for Summer Supply
Hyderabad’s water board is preparing for the hotter summer months.
It wants drinking water to keep flowing without long interruptions.
Officials will identify neighborhoods that depend on Singur and Manjeera water.
They will plan backup sources and routes for emergencies.
They will also check pipes, valves and connections in areas with high demand or low pressure.
Broken power borewells will be repaired, and each working borewell will have a responsible lineman.
The board will review tanker filling stations and increase the reuse of treated wastewater.
It also plans to teach people not to waste water and may act against repeated violations.
HMWS&SB Managing Director Ashok Reddy ordered an advance plan for uninterrupted summer drinking-water supply.
Officials will prepare area-wise contingency plans for localities dependent on Singur and Manjeera supplies.
The plans will identify alternative water sources, routes, quantities, pipeline links and network upgrades.
Power borewells will be repaired, assigned linemen within 15 days and tracked through a centralized online database.
Officials will assess tanker filling stations, control water wastage, expand treated-water points and survey private sewage-treatment plants.
