Telangana Government to Expedite SLBC Tunnel Works
The Telangana government is making a big push to finish a key water tunnel called the SLBC.
This tunnel is important because it will bring water to areas that need it.
Because the tunnel is not finished the government is spending a lot of money on electricity to pump water.
The government is also planning a detailed study of the area around the tunnel to ensure that they use the best technology and get the project completed quickly.
The Irrigation Minister says finishing the tunnel is a top priority for the government.
Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy directed officials to expedite works on the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel.
The project is a 'very high priority' for the Congress government.
A meeting with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will be held to secure clearances.
The incomplete tunnel prevents water access and requires the government to spend ₹750 crore annually on electricity.
Aerial surveys by NGRI and GSI will be conducted to aid in planning and execution.
