Tata Motors Expands EV Plans
Tata Motors is planning to launch five new electric car models by the year 2030.
They are going to spend a lot of money, between 16,000 and 18,000 crore rupees, to make these new cars and also to build more places where people can charge their electric cars.
Right now, Tata Motors sells more than half of all electric cars in India.
They want to keep being the biggest seller of electric cars in the country and plan to have 45-50% of the market by 2030.
Some of the new cars they will make are called Sierra.ev and Avinya.
They have already sold more than 2.5 lakh electric cars.
Tata Motors also has over 2 lakh charging points across the country, making it easier for people to use electric cars.
The Avinya EV is expected to be a premium offering with a separate brand and a minimalist, lounge-like cabin styling.
Tata Motors plans to launch 5 new EV models by FY30, including the premium Avinya range and Sierra.ev.
The company will invest Rs 16,000-18,000 crore in EV business and charging infrastructure by FY30.
TMPV currently holds 66% market share in electric passenger vehicles in India.
New models include Sierra.ev, Avinya, and updates to existing models like the Punch.ev.
Tata Motors aims for a 45-50% market share in the EV segment by FY30 and has already sold over 2.5 lakh EVs.
