India-UK FTA: Startup, Job, and AI Boost Expected
India and the UK have made a deal called a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
This means it will be easier for the two countries to buy and sell goods and services from each other.
OYO's founder believes this is great news for new businesses, technology, and creating jobs.
The deal also reduces taxes on many products, making them cheaper to buy and sell.
This will help businesses in India, such as those making clothes and seafood, to sell their products in the UK more easily.
Also, some Indian workers in the UK will not have to pay certain taxes for a few years.
India and the UK signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to boost trade in goods and services.
OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal said the FTA would be a game-changer for startups, AI, and jobs.
The deal will cut tariffs, with the average tariff on UK products falling to 3%.
Indian businesses will benefit from zero-duty access to the UK, including textiles, footwear, and marine products.
At least 75,000 Indian workers in the UK will be exempt from social security payments for three years.
