Kerala Govt Sanctions Rs 20 Cr for Retired Anganwadi Workers' Pensions
The government in Kerala has decided to give 20 crore rupees to help retired workers who used to take care of little kids at places called anganwadis.
These workers helped families for many years, and now that they are retired, they should get a pension to help them.
Sometimes, the special fund that is supposed to pay them doesn't have enough money.
So, the government is stepping in with this money to make sure these retired workers and their families receive their pensions and other important benefits.
This is not the first time the government has helped, as they have given a lot of money over the last few years to support these workers after their service.
Kerala government has sanctioned ₹20 crore for retired anganwadi workers' pensions and benefits.
The funds are allocated to the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Welfare Fund Board.
The sanction is for distributing pensions and death benefits to retired members and their kin.
The Welfare Fund Board requires ₹4.26 crore monthly for pensions alone, but only receives ₹2.15 crore per month as its welfare fund share.
The Kerala government has provided ₹76 crore in financial assistance to the Board over the past four and a half years.
